DJI announced the DJI Mavic 3 Pro and Mavic 3 Pro Cine, two drones with three different optical lenses and cameras.

If you want to elevate your photography and videography game to new heights, look no further than the DJI Mavic 3 Pro. This state-of-the-art drone is the ultimate tool for capturing stunning aerial footage and has revolutionized the world of aerial photography and videography.

After the Inspire 3, DJI released the Mavic 3 Pro, a new version of its high-end folding drone with a wide-angle camera and two telephoto cameras on a triple-camera gimbal. Switching cams is as easy as switching between apps on an iPhone.

The DJI has many advanced features and powers, and Mavic 3 Pro offers photographers and filmmakers an unparalleled experience of capturing breathtaking footage from above. Let’s examine what makes this drone unique and why it should be your next investment.

DJI’s Creative Director, Ferdinand Wolf, said, “The Mavic 3 Pro’s three cameras let users switch between shot compositions with just one tap, giving content creators a wider range of shots in less time than ever.”

Even though DJI doesn’t say so, this could fill a gap below the just-announced Inspire 3, which doesn’t have a model in this price range since it costs well over a thousand dollars. The Mavic 3 Pro is better than the Mavic 3 Classic with one camera and the first Mavic 3 with two cameras. Our guide to the best DJI drones has more information.

The new system can be used as a hybrid camera with a pinch-and-zoom mode or just the three optical focus lengths. These are 24mm, the original Hasselblad camera that was first seen on the Mavic 3, and 70mm, a new 3x telephoto mode. And 166mm, which is a new 7x telephoto mode.

The previous Mavic 3 drone had a 7x camera, but this DJI Mavic 3 Pro has a new lens that improves the sharpness over the Mavic 3 (the teaser even says “focus”!) With the new camera block, the flight will take 43 minutes.

It is the new top-of-the-line consumer/prosumer drone. It comes in two versions: regular (MicroSD card) and Cine. The Cine version can encode in ProRes HQ, ProRes 422, and ProRes LT and can record to a built-in 1TB SSD. The Mavic 3 also has a 10Gbps internet connection that lets you send data, but all three cameras support ProRes.

The primary camera is a 4/3 CMOS that can record video at 5.1K at 50fps, 4K at 120fps, and 4K at 60fps with features like subject tracking working. The sensor on the middle telephoto is 1/1.3 inches, while the sensor on the longer 7x telephoto is 1/2 inch. Their images are, in order, 20MP, 48MP, and 12MP.

DJI has finally added waypoint flight to its new software, which lets the drone follow a route you’ve already planned. As we discussed in our review of the Skydio 2+, the Mavic 3 has been far behind Skydio in this area. With cruise control, long, smooth trips can be taken in any direction, and there are better ways to get back home.

In other ways, though, the DJI Fly software is familiar and has the benefit of being ready when the Mavic 3 comes out instead of a few months later.

Design and Build

The DJI Mavic 3 Pro is designed for professional use, and its build quality and design reflect that. It is incredibly compact and portable, making it easy to take anywhere. The body of the drone is composed of excellent components that are both strong and light so that it can handle even the most challenging circumstances.

The drone’s 3-axis gimbal system ensures that the camera stays stable and level at all times, even when flying at high speeds or in windy conditions. This means you can capture smooth, stable footage without any shakes or jitters.

Camera Features

One of the best things about the DJI Mavic 3 Pro is its three high-performance cameras. The drone has a Hasselblad camera, known for its high-quality lenses and sensors. The camera can shoot 4K video at 60 frames per second and 20-megapixel stills.

In addition to the primary camera, the DJI Mavic 3 Pro has two additional cameras. These include wide-angle and zoom cameras, which offer even more flexibility and versatility when capturing footage.

The drone’s camera features include advanced software, such as HDR and Hyperlapse modes, allowing you to create stunning, dynamic footage easily.

Flight Features

The DJI Mavic 3 Pro is also packed with advanced flight features that make it easy to control and maneuver. It has a maximum flight time of up to 46 minutes, longer than most other drones on the market. It means you can spend more time capturing footage and less worrying about battery life.

The drone’s advanced features and capabilities make it an investment in your craft, and it will surely pay off in the long run with stunning footage that will set your work apart from the rest.
