As revealed on Samsung’s Korean-language forums, the Galaxy Enhance-X app, which is still in beta, can be downloaded for free on Galaxy S23 devices from the Galaxy Store. This version isn’t yet available for Galaxy S22, but it will be coming to the top phone series from last year.

Galaxy A-series users will also be able to use Enhance-X. Because the chipsets in the A-series are less powerful, apps on phones like the Galaxy A54 will have fewer features.

Samsung Galaxy Enhance-X v1.0.55 beta, which came out earlier today, only works with the company’s latest flagship phone, the Galaxy S23. Picture processing through AI is complicated and needs high-end hardware like the Galaxy S23. (via SamMobile)

But Samsung said that users of the Galaxy S22 will soon be able to use the new version of the picture editor. Also, the South Korean phone maker said that some of the Galaxy A series phones could use the Galaxy Enhance-X app, though not all of its features may be available on these non-flagship phones.

Currently, the Galaxy Enhance-X app for the S23 series can edit photos, improve images, and eliminate artifacts. Suppose you have one of Samsung’s newest flagship phones. In that case, you can use features like Magic, HDR, Brightness, Focus increase, Lens Distortion Correction, Upscale (4x resolution increase), and Sharpen.

Galaxy Enhance-X has many ways to help people improve their photos and videos. Some of these things are:

  • Image upscaling: This feature can make an image look sharper and more detailed by increasing its density.
  • Noise reduction: This tool can eliminate noise in an image, making it look cleaner and more professional.
  • Sharpening: This feature can make a picture’s edges look clearer by pointing them.
  • Deblur: This feature can eliminate blur, making a photo look more precise.
  • Color correction: This feature lets you change an image’s colors to make it look more vivid and real.
  • Portrait mode: This feature can make the background behind a subject blurry, which makes the subject stand out more.
  • Reflection removal: This feature eliminates reflections in a picture, making it look more authentic.
  • More removal: This tool can eliminate an image’s moire patterns, making it look smoother.

Galaxy Enhance-X is a powerful tool that can help people make their photos and movies look better. The app is simple and easy to use. It has many features that can make any picture look better.

Here are some tips for using Galaxy Enhance-X:

  • Start with a high-quality image: The better the quality of your original image, the better the results will be.
  • Use the different features to see what works best for each image: Not all features will work well. Experiment with the other components to see what produces the best results.
  • Save your edited images: Once you’re happy with the results, save your edited photos to your device. You can then share them with friends and family or use them for other projects.

You can tap the Magic Enhancer button to let the app take over the whole process or use the stepped sliders if you’d rather have some direct control. Galaxy Enhance-X HDR is one of the app’s other editing tools. This works by smartly looking at an image’s highlights, shadows, general brightness, and contrast to increase its dynamic range without lowering its quality.

Many third-party apps can do HDR, but the Galaxy Enhance-X app has some tricks that make it stand out. A shadow removal tool can find distracting shadows in a picture and automatically eliminate them. A Moiré removal tool works similarly. It can eliminate the clear lines often visible in computer or TV screen images. It is helpful if you need to take a screenshot of such a screen but can’t get to the device itself.

Last but not least, these intelligent AI algorithms can also make low-resolution pictures look up to four times better. This feature was made for low-resolution social media photos, so it will only enlarge photographs with a resolution of less than 1 megapixel.

Samsung says complex AI deep learning “requires high-end hardware performance.” Hence, Galaxy Enhance-X is only available for the Galaxy S23 series. However, support for the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy A-series is coming soon.

Verdict: The built-in editing tools in smartphone photo apps are easy to use, but Galaxy Enhance-X goes one step further because it can fix problems that other phones couldn’t. We already consider the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra to be the best smartphone camera available, and this app makes it even better.

In portrait view, you’ll also be able to use features like beauty and light effects to improve your photos. In the Remove Artifact menu, the app allows users to eliminate shadows and items that reflect light.

Users of the Galaxy Enhance-X app can start changing their photos as soon as they take them. Most of the app’s features can be used with just one tap, so you don’t need to know much about photos to use it.

The Galaxy Store lets you get the latest version of the Galaxy Enhance-X app for free. It’s an 85MB download, so it will only take up a little room on your hard drive.

Final Thoughts

Galaxy Enhance-X has a few specific editing tools. Still, the power of its automatic enhancements could make up for that. This app isn’t like Google’s Magic Eraser tool, which lets you erase unwanted parts of your writing. But fixes for compressed or moiréd images could prove helpful. Since Enhance-X is free, if you already have a Samsung phone, you have nothing to lose by trying it.
