Montana is the first state to ban TikTok
Montana recently made headlines when it announced that it was banning the popular social media platform TikTok. This decision has been met with a variety of reactions from citizens across the state, ranging from surprise to confusion and even outrage. While some may be disappointed by this news, there are still plenty of reasons why Montana’s TikTok ban is actually might not be a bad thing.
For one thing, this ban can help protect people’s privacy and safety while using social media platforms like Tiktok. By prohibiting access to these apps in Montana, users will no longer have to worry about their personal information being shared or compromised without their knowledge or consent. Additionally, since many children use these types of apps as well as adults in our state, preventing them from accessing potentially inappropriate content is another great benefit that comes along with this move by the government.

The bill makes it illegal to download TikTok in the state, and any entity, such as Apple and Google’s app stores or TikTok itself, that makes the app available, faces penalties of up to $10,000 a day.
