When was photography invented?

Photography has been around for centuries, but its invention is credited to a man named Joseph Nicéphore Niépce in 1814. He created the first permanent photograph by using a camera obscura and bitumen-coated pewter plate. This process was called heliography, meaning “sun writing” in Greek.

Since then, photography has come a long way with many advances made over time that have helped shape it into what it is today: an art form used by millions of people all over the world for both personal and professional reasons alike!
