With a newly made image sensor and AlphaTM series technology, you can take portraits that look great and have accurate colors, both during the day and at night.

Sony Electronics Inc. has released the Xperia 1 V, its first top smartphone. It has a new technology, a stacked CMOS image sensor with a 2-layer Transistor Pixel. The Xperia 1 V is full of Sony’s latest technology, so it can meet the high-level needs of creators and also help future makers who want to shoot or send their content with pride.

“We continue to put our customers’ needs first, and the new Xperia 1 V takes content creation, viewing, gaming, battery life, and audio capabilities to the next level,” Yang Cheng, Vice President of Imaging Solutions at Sony Electronics Inc., says this. “The possibilities and needs for smartphones are growing, and with the Xperia 1 V, there are no limits to what you can do with photos and videos.”

Right now, there is a lot of competition in the camera phone market. Established players like Google’s Pixel 7 Pro and the iPhone 14 Pro are challenged by newer phones like the Xiaomi 13 Ultra and the Huawei P60 Pro. But where does Sony come in?

Main Feaures of Price of Xperia 1 V

The Xperia 1 V will come out in black, platinum silver, and khaki green. It has the same design as Sony’s top phones in the past, like the Xperia 1 IV, but it’s been updated with a slightly curved back panel.

Unlike other flagships, Sony has kept its 3.5mm headphone jack and camera button. This is good news for people who like wired headphones and a two-stage shutter release.

The front and back of the Xperia 1 V are made of Gorilla Glass Victus 2. The frame is made of metal, and the phone’s shape comes from its 6.5-inch 21:9 OLED screen.

Sony’s screen tech doesn’t pull any punches. The screen has a 4K resolution, HDR capabilities, and the smooth 120Hz refresh rate we saw on the Xperia 1 IV. When it comes to the camera, Sony has increased the size of the primary lens to 1/1.35 inches, which is about 70% bigger than what was in the Xperia 1 IV. Because of this, it should be better at picking up light and dealing with noise, but Sony has also changed how the sensor is built to help its latest bestseller.

In more detail, Sony put the photodiodes and transistors on the sensor on two different layers. This gave the transistors more room, which helped improve the quality of the picture.

So, while the Xiaomi 13 Ultra and the Vivo X90 Pro use Sony’s big 1-inch camera sensor in their phones, Sony’s new 50MP primary sensor is used in the Xperia flagship instead.

The backup cameras are also excellent. The telephoto module from the Xperia 1 IV is back and can zoom continuously from 85mm to 125mm. There is also a 12MP ultra-wide camera.

Sony put some Alpha features on the Xperia 1 V, like the Vlog mode, so that the camera can focus on a person and whatever they hold as they move it into the frame.

The new Xperia flagship can also connect directly to YouTube Live through its Video Pro app, which includes a chat window. Its picture and video pro tools can now be used to take photos and videos in portrait mode, which was impossible before.

Less impressively, this is the first Sony phone to have a computational camera night mode that might be as good as the best ones out there. We haven’t tried it yet, but Sony hasn’t been very open to computational shooting in the past, which has been hard for us. With any luck, the Xperia 1 V will be a step toward better nighttime photos.

Other features include built-in storage of 256GB, support for SD cards up to 1TB, and power from Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. We’ve had good luck with how this processor handles heat, so we’re hopeful that Sony’s 2023 Xperia flagship won’t have the same problems with getting too hot as its predecessors.

With wireless charging and a large 5000mAh battery, this phone has the potential to be the greatest Xperia to date and one of the top camera phones of 2023.

Based on its features and price, it’s clear that the Xperia 1 V is aimed at prosumers. The phone can also be an external monitor and recorder for an Alpha camera. It has fine-grained settings for taking photos and videos and costs £1,299 (about $1,680).

If you live in the UK, you can get an Xperia 1 V in late June from Sony or through a plan with EE, O2, or Giffgaff.
